Who is Med-Aid?
Med-Aid is an independent company that provides orthopedic bracing products. We consign orthopedic bracing products for healthcare facilities including: physician offices, hospitals, urgent care centers, and surgery centers. We are also licensed and certified to provide and fit, both off the shelf and custom, orthopedic braces directly to patients. We have both ABC and BOC certified orthotists and orthotic fitters on staff.
Why am I getting a bill from Med-Aid?
Med-Aid owns the product that was dispensed to you. You signed Med-Aid paperwork acknowledging the product that you received belongs to Med-Aid and that you gave Med-Aid authorization to bill your insurance company and that you agreed to be responsible for any balance your insurance does not cover. It is also explained in our paperwork that you did not have to accept this product from us and that this product is being provided to you as a convenience.
Where did these prices come from for these products?
The price of the product billed to your insurance is based on the contract price established by your insurance company and the recommended billing code from the product manufacturer. Med-Aid does not set their own prices for any insurance billable products that are provided.
What insurances do you accept?
Med-Aid accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance and workers’ compensation policies.
Do you provide products to patients without a prescription?
No, Med-Aid will not provide products to patients without a prescription from your physician. We are a provider company, not a retail company.
